Other Help and Support

Kawasaki Disease is a serious disease and can have long lasting effects on families. In fact, the impact on many families is huge – the worry and anxiety that serious illness brings can also impact the mental health of everyone involved. Every year there will be some children who spend considerable time in hospital, which brings tremendous pressures for many families and their seriously unwell children. And sadly, a few children each year die from Kawasaki Disease. Parents, brothers and sisters, wider family and friends can all be affected and need extra help.

A number of organisations exist that can provide this help, expert support, counselling and advice for families who find themselves faced with these immense challenges. A list of useful links have been added below and we are in the process of establishing a direct connection to these organisations, as partners, to help provide the best possible support for families in our Societi community.

The links below will take you to external websites which we hope are helpful. If you have been affected by Kawasaki Disease and have sought support from an organisation not listed here but which you’ve found helpful, please let us know so we can add it to this resources page and share with other families. Thank you.
