Centres of Expertise
In the UK there is a growing number of doctors with both interest in and expertise in Kawasaki Disease. We are working to grow this knowledge base further!
Our Societi Scientific Advisory Board includes three leading clinicians who are experts in the field of Kawasaki Disease. They are:
Professor Robert Tulloh – paediatric cardiologist, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children
Professor Paul Brogan – paediatric rheumatologist, Great Ormond Street Hospital
Professor Michael Levin – infectious diseases paediatrician, St Mary’s, London
Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital is home to the largest specialist Kawasaki Disease clinic for children in the UK.
Led by Professor Tulloh, the specialist Kawasaki Disease clinic at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, and a specialist clinic for adults with a history of Kawasaki Disease (at Bristol Heart Institute) are open to patients from across the UK. You will need a referral from your GP to be seen in the clinic by a specialist in Kawasaki Disease. Many GP’s are happy to make this referral, on request – if you are not already being seen by a Kawasaki Disease expert, or if you are seeking a second opinion.
